SF Underground Market

by Jill

There is nothing traditional about this underground foodstuffs market except the exceptional quality that is the signature of most San Franciscans who are serious about food. The SF Underground Market is a venue for culinary artisans and local purveyors to sell their delicacies without full compliance with commercial kitchen regulations. This means that you'll be able to sample the wares of sellers just starting out and try the next new big (foodie) thing before everyone else does! Bring an empty bag and an empty stomach...

Usually held at Public Works (151 Erie) though venue could change.

Know before you go:

The drawback of those pesky commercial kitchen regulations is that, to visit the Market, you must become a paying "member." Membership fees are nominal though and well worth it for what you get inside
